Nebraska Ave. Remodel

For those that love Before and After Pictures like I do-Here you go (If you prefer to watch the video, click here)!

My husband purchased this house before we started dating. He only needed a small house at the time. Once he started dating me, we realized there was no way the kids and I will ever be able to live there with him. We rented a few larger houses for a few years before we bought another one. The 4 years of renting this house out to bachelors took a toll and when the renters moved out it was time for fixing it up to sell. We originally were only going to update it with paint and minor updates but we realized if we wanted to sell it, we would need to update it quite a bit more to not lose money on it.

Fun Update: We listed the house and had a full price offer within 24 hours!

Before and Afters (because who doesn't love them?!?)

Front Exterior

Before

This is what the house looked like prior to doing any exterior work. The paint color wasn't bad and it was in pretty good condition so we decided to keep it. We painted the trim, added some DIY wood shutters, did a little landscaping and called it a day!

What an impact for such a small price! I think we spent less than $100 on the front exterior.

After

We still drive by this house when we are in Spokane to check up on it and reminisce. Is that weird? :) The new owners have taken great care of it.

I love this blue. I have used it on several doors in my own house as well.

The hole in the wall was to see if it was load bearing. It was :(

Living Room After

We made the best of the wall having to stay there. We did a wide board and batten style wall. It brightens up the room for sure!

The Kitchen

Kitchen Entry AFter

This is the only space in this small house to have a dedicated place to eat. We dressed it up by painting the cabinets, adding butcher block, subway tile back splash, and craftsman style trim on the windows.

Here we added subway back splash, new lighting, a new farm style sink, and new fixtures. We kept the cabinets (and painted them), appliances, and floors.
